LULUSstylesessions

You guys asked via Instagram and in collaboration with LuLu*S... I answered.
This weeks Summer Style question from Instagram user: @sieradear

What kind of dress should I wear with high heels for day time? Long? Short? Midi? What style is most appropriate?

Exclusive to LuLu*s Shift Dress, Teal Cross Body bag, Round Sunnies, Hand bracelet, Snake Skin Heels

Summer is for being a girly and wearing dresses day and night. This weeks LuLu*s style question, what kind of dress to wear heels with in day time... my answer: A good shift dress always does the trick when it comes to keeping it casual yet girly. They are not form fitting which takes away the illusion of a Vegas night out and the midi length is very day time appropriate even with heels. I threw in some colorful bracelets and a pop of color with my purse to add some playfulness to the look and voila the sky high heels and dress combo is ready even just for a Starbucks coffee chat.

SUMMERrevamp

I teamed up with The Fashion Spot to bring you my Summer Fashion and Look revamp... this is what happened!

Winter is always darker! Sweater by Townsen, Jacket by Wet Seal, Jeans by Dittos, Necklace by Karen London, Shoes by BC Footwear

Winter is almost purely interpreted by your personal style and look and style in Southern California. Wearing layers and sweaters with beanies is a little over kill but none the less a nod to my home countries Canada and Switzerland where layering was for warmth and not to separate the summer and winter months.

Summer time: Jacket by Michael Stars, Top from Lulu*s, Jean shorts by Minkpink, Sandals by Coconuts, Necklace by St Eve Jewelry, Tote by Express, Sunnies by BCBG

A special thanks to Salon Benjamin and Deanna Beavers for the perfect natural summer ombre look I am in love with my new summer look that so perfectly matches the easy breezy vibe of warm sunshine and beach days.

Dress by Lovers + Friends, Clutch by Express, Necklace by Karen London, Shoes by Seychelles, Shades by BCBG

You guys have kept up with my hair changes over the past 8 months; from purple to brown... and now back to a newly updated, perfect version of naturally sun kissed summer ombre. It is just what I needed to complete my summer beach look. When The Fashion Spot challenged me to a summer look revamp, a hair update was the first thing that came to mind. Keeping your newly bleached tresses hydrated is the single most important hair care tip. My colorist, Deanna Beavers, recommends hydrating your ends with oil everyday! She swears by Fluoro 5 elixir, which is available at Salon Benjamin and is so incredibly affordable, I now, for the rest of my life can not be without it! Another hair drama situation us blonds worry about is eliminating the fear of being thrown in the pool and our hair turning green. Its not likely to happen however, a good way to again keep your hair healthy even if you must cannon ball into the pool or ocean is to wet it your hair with cold tap water first put a little bit of conditioner on it and tie it in that famous top knot! Voila, no drama and your also doing a little conditioning treatment while having some fun in the sun. LULUSstylesessions

You guys asked via Instagram and in collaboration with LULU*s, I answered...
Round 2 Summer Style question from Instagram user: @xsambam

I see so many people mixing patterns. What is the right way to mix different patterns to create an outfit.

Denim Jacket, Lucy Love Shorts, Shirt by Insight, Platform Wedges, Infiniti Knuckle Ring, Evil eye Bracelet

This weeks style session question with LuLu*s couldn't have been a more perfect one to answer for this summer. Its all about colors and bold prints and I say, why not mix them into a bright fun outfit. Embrace your daring side and just go with it. Key ingredient to mixing prints and not looking like a hot mess to me is, have one tie in color, mine was black, and have one piece be bold and the second more of a two tone color way. An easy way to tone down your playful color pallet on an outfit day like this, is to throw a jacket over it. This denim jacket is ruling my life right now. It has every element I look for in a jean jacket that may as well be straight from the 90's. Well, get print mixing, don't be shy! Happy Wednesday!

VENICEriot

Bikini top by Beach Riot, Overalls by G-Star (similar here), Snapback by Lovers + Friends, Sneakers by Converse, Bracelets by Pearl Love, Shades by BCBG

Posting from NY in the rain, one of my favorite beach outfits from back home, how weird! This iconic graffiti spot is 10 minutes from my house on Venice beach! While taking my brother for beach bike ride we just had to stop and snap a few pics. So sad they don't have the palm trees graffitied anymore. This outfit is pretty much the California uniform for summer months. Beach Riot, my number one go to for bikinis this season, they have every style and print a girl could want to be a beach bum in. Their colors and prints are so much fun. OK East Coast its time for the sun to shine cause this is making me long for a beach day or pool day. Photos by Aaron Schwartz
